    My mother’s family comes from Between the Rivers, generally around Model, TN, but with some all the way up to Golden Pond. Still a lot of hard feelings about losing the old family lands.

      I’ve heard the stories from David Nickell. One thing David didn’t tell me about, perhaps because it happened before his time, was an episode of violence against LBR Black neighbors in the early or mid-20th century causing more of the African Americans to flee the area. I have since lost the reference. Do you know, or have you heard anything about this?
