JusTini’s is a Black woman-owned cocktail and brunch bar in the rapidly gentrifying Bywater. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear this was a special place.
An elegant space dripping with chandeliers and glassware, filled entirely with stylish Black women and men (but mostly women), holding court with confidence and joy. This isn’t just a place where Black people are welcome—it’s a place where Black elegance sets the tone. A space that feels like a rewriting of what luxury means and who it belongs to.
It felt like a scene from a Barry Jenkins film—lush, intentional, full of grace. Not fantasy. Very real.
There’s something radical in that. Something joyful. JusTini’s isn’t trying to be subversive—it just is, by the power of its presence.
We stayed a while. Had drinks. Took it in.
And I left feeling like I’d glimpsed a rare kind of triumph, both ordinary and profound.
