I knew Laura back in the day as one of the wild punk kids who floated a damn pedal raft from Kansas City down the Missouri and Mississippi rivers to New Orleans. That’s a rare kind of dedication to weirdness and adventure.
I wouldn’t have known about this beautiful synchronicity if it weren’t for Sophie—our magical NOLA guru—who’s been sending us to all the best places to drink, dance, and eat this past week.
I showed up early and landed first on the haircut list. Sophie, naturally, was number two.
